.

April 2012 Suwannee river paddle?

Lake Tugaloo – New Years Day?

After enduring 75 miles under less than ideal conditions on the upper Suwannee river last April, Gordy is thinking that he would like to finish the Suwannee to the Gulf. Plans are to ‘put in’ at the Suwannee River Outpost (Suwannee River Music Park) and complete the @150 miles to the Gulf (Suwannee, Fla) from the outpost – at our relaxed pace this paddle could take in the neighborhood of eight days

I’m throwing this post out for anyone else that might be interested in paddling along, join us and head down the river also. The second and third week of April 2012, we’ll camp the 8th and put-in Monday am 9th at the outpost and go from there.

This is not a strenuous trip and you do not have to be an expert to complete – but, you should be very comfortable on the water and be ‘self-sufficient’ with food and gear. If you read my posts from my completed paddle last April (daily links below) they should provide you an idea of the elements, conditions, and views along the river – it is a worthwhile paddle.

So if you are interested in an extended multi-day/camp paddle, here’s your chance. Again, we are not an ‘outfitter, just throwing this out for those ‘like-minded’ folks that might enjoy this simple challenge on a beautiful river.

- this is a tentative AGENDA for April 2012 Suwannee River.
